Hot to Trot

Hot to Trot

If you like your activewear like your fashion; right on trend, you’ll be as delighted as us that the Autumn/Winter catwalks saw an influx of activewear-inspired pieces.

Tommy Hilfiger, Versace and Fenty Puma were just some of the brands that featured sporty shapes with practicality in mind. Fashion’s ongoing love affair with athleisure means sport luxe is most definitely here to stay.

We’re majorly crushing on these trends, fresh from the runways, that have jumped from catwalk to sportswear…

Transitional Florals

Not just a Spring bloom, florals are a perennial favourite and featured on the catwalk at Mulberry and Erdem. Dark florals make for the perfect wardrobe transition, but rather than the ubiquitous floral dress we’re opting for a matching two-piece.

Try All Fenix’ Tulip Bay, Oli Strip or Royal Bloom with the matching bra top.

Think Pink

Designers were clearly in the mood for pink this season, with bright, bold pink hues unapologetically scattered across the collections at Armani, Tom Ford and H&M. We love how this colour knows no rules!

To add a pink pop to your activewear go for Climawear’s Front Runner leggings, Raise the Bar leggings and the Pink Beyond the Horizon crop.

Model Muse

There’s nowhere better than backstage to witness off duty, model chic at its best. With the supers Bella and Gigi Hadid, Hailey Baldwin and Kendall Jenner rocking effortlessly cool looks, day after day.

Get the look with Hard Tail’s Not so Naughty jumpers and Strut This’ leggings in grey or camo: They will certainly put a little extra sass in your step.

One Step Ahead…

With the Spring 2018 trends hot off the catwalk this week in Milan and Paris, here’s a sneak peek at the trends we’ll be adopting ahead of time…

High Shine

Alexander Wang’s use of high shine fabrics in his SS18 show was a winner. Brands such as Noli and Body Language have referenced this space age styling in their designs with Noli’s Foil Bird Leggings and Body Language’s upcoming Winter collection.

Tee Time

SS18 catwalks saw the return of a wardrobe staple - the humble white tee. Designers such as Calvin Klein and Zadig & Voltiare used the simplicity of a luxe white tee to stunning effect. Here at MGW we can’t resist a good white tee, our go-to staples include Hard Tail’s Lola Lux and Nux’ Hazel sleeveless.

Rock Ruching

Stylish, flattering shapes are the key in this trend, as seen at Tory Burch and Diane Von Furstenberg. The trend is perfect to sculpt and camouflage body parts you’d rather not highlight, allowing you to showcase your best assets.

Try the trend with Nux’s Spellbound cami, Strut This’ Hudson collection and Body Language’s Scrunchy Calle legging: They use ruching to perfectly complement your curves.
